Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated 26 October 2026

ZaRHost gives you real servers on the internet, and what runs on them can affect other people. This policy says what is not allowed and what happens if it goes wrong. It applies to everything you run or store with us and forms part of our Terms of Service.

What you must not do

Our cloud provider has its own acceptable use rules, and they apply to your servers too. If theirs are stricter than ours on a point, theirs win.

Your servers are your responsibility

You decide what runs on a server, so you answer for it. Keep the software up to date, use SSH keys, and only open the firewall ports you need. A server that has been taken over and is attacking others breaks this policy even if you did not mean it to.

What we do when the rules are broken

When someone reports a problem or we spot one, we look into it. Usually we ask you to fix it and give you a short time to do so. If a server is causing harm right now, we may stop it straight away and tell you afterwards. If the problem is serious or comes back, we may delete the server or close the account, and you will not get a refund for the time that was lost.

We tell you what we found and let you reply, unless the law or an investigation stops us. We may pass information to the police or another authority when the law asks us to, or when we think someone is at risk.

Reporting a problem

If you think a ZaRHost server is being used to cause harm, tell us on our abuse reporting page.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the last change, and we will tell you about important ones.
